Please consider running for Local Office!
There are no requirements to hold office for the vast majority of elected positions, other than to be registered to vote in the appropriate district and to be at least 18 years of age.
You do not have to any education, be a home owner, or have any particular job! As stated by President Abraham Lincoln, The Gettysburg Address, November 19, 1863: “... government of the people, by the people, for the people..."
Holding office is important. The votes you make from the dais create the policies that we live under. There is no one else but you and your colleagues that make decisions.
Holding office is enjoyable.
You learn a lot how government works and what is going on behind the scenes.
